But Genesis 7 raises a deeper question than any clever reminder, one that matters more than nostalgia or childhood toys.
Are you in the ark?
Noah’s story is full of animals, obedience, and a rainbow, but at its center sits a rescue plan. God judged the earth, and he also gave a way out. That way out points straight to Jesus.
The Only Safe Place
In Noah’s day, the ark stood as the only safe place. Not because Noah lived a perfect life, but because he believed God and obeyed him. Once the rain started falling, only two kinds of people existed. Those inside the ark survived. Everyone else did not.
Jesus Is Our Ark
It is the same today. Jesus is our ark, the way God provided to rescue us from sin, judgment, and the exhausting effort of trying to be good enough for heaven. The door to salvation stands open right now, just as it did in Noah’s time. One day it will close.
Where Do You Stand With God?
Maybe you wonder where you stand with God. Believing in him, attending church, reading your Bible some weeks, none of that erases the quiet uncertainty underneath. Deep down, the question lingers. Have I truly surrendered, or do I only know about Jesus instead of knowing him?
Walking Through the Door
Sweet friend, do not wait for the rain. Kindness, generosity, and spiritual effort will never be enough to carry you through. No one dog-paddled their way onto the ark. Every animal entered through the one door God provided, and we still have to walk through that same door today.
Jesus said in John 10:9, “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved.”
That door stands open today. Maybe you have never truly placed your faith in Jesus. Maybe you are unsure whether you have truly stepped into that place of rescue.
Either way, you can settle it now, not through striving or having all the answers, but through believing he is who he says he is and accepting the salvation freely offered through him.
No one dog-paddled their way onto the ark. Every animal entered through the one door God provided, and we still have to walk through that same door today.

You do not have to earn your way into the ark. You only have to walk through the door that is already open.
