Celebrating National Library Week April 6 to 12 2025

How You Can Support Christian Authors and Discover Inspiring Reads ~~

Did you know your local library is one of the best places to discover new Christian fiction, request books for purchase, and support your favorite authors? With National Library Week happening from April 6 to April 12, 2025, now is the perfect time to take advantage of all your library has to offer!

Whether you love borrowing physical books or prefer digital options like Hoopla and OneCloud, your library system is a treasure trove waiting to be explored. And the best part? You can make a real difference by requesting Christian books, leaving reviews, and helping faith-based authors gain visibility.

1. Request Books to Be Purchased

One of the best ways to help Christian authors gain visibility is by requesting that your library system purchase their books. Most libraries have an online request form where you can suggest new titles for their collection. This not only makes faith-based books available to others in your community but also signals to libraries that readers are hungry for clean, inspiring fiction.

Want to start today? If your library doesn’t yet carry Desire of My Heart from the Discerning God’s Best series, consider requesting it! One reader had this to say:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A well-written Christian romance.
“I did not buy this book. I borrowed it from our local library system, actually my local library didn’t have it, so I did a search in Ohio and got it from a much farther library. I saw the brief snippet on Facebook and clicked and read so much of that, that had I not found it at my library I think I might have bought it! It’s a very well-written book. I love the scripture that’s throughout. Not wanting to spoil anything, but I especially love the mismatch of people who don’t quite have families coming together to make a family. It’s just such a wonderful reminder that God truly meets all of our needs AND often blesses us with the desires of our hearts.”
James Hamrick

2. Check Out Books (and Leave a Review!)

Borrowing books from your library—whether in print, digital, or audiobook format—helps authors by increasing their circulation numbers, which encourages libraries to keep their books in stock.

But don’t stop there—always leave a review! Whether you leave feedback on Amazon, Goodreads, or your library’s website, reviews are one of the best ways to help authors reach new readers. A simple “I enjoyed this book!” makes a difference.

3. Explore Digital Resources Like Hoopla, Outlook, and OneCloud

Many library systems offer Christian fiction through digital services like Hoopla, Libby (OverDrive), OneCloud, and Outlook. These platforms allow you to borrow eBooks and audiobooks for free, just like a physical book.

Not sure how to access these resources? National Library Week is the perfect time to ask! Your local librarian would love to help you set up an account and start borrowing books digitally.

4. Organize a Book Discussion or Author Event

Have a favorite Christian author? Why not introduce them to your church group or local book club? Many authors, myself included, love connecting with readers through book discussions, virtual Q&A sessions, or in-person signings.

During National Library Week, consider:
✅ Asking your library if they’d host a Christian fiction book club
✅ Suggesting a local author event featuring a Christian writer
✅ Partnering with your church or community group for a faith-based book discussion

Bringing people together around Christian fiction is a wonderful way to encourage meaningful conversation and support authors who share biblical values in their stories.

5. Share the Love—Recommend Books to Others!

Word-of-mouth is powerful! If you enjoy a book, share it with a friend, post about it on social media, or donate a copy to your church library.

Looking for an inspiring Christian romance to recommend? Desire of My Heart is available through Kindle Unlimited, making it easy to read and share with friends. This heartwarming story of faith and family will inspire anyone looking for a tale filled with love and biblical truth.

Make a Difference During National Library Week!

Your library card is more powerful than you think. From April 6-12, 2025, celebrate National Library Week by requesting books, leaving reviews, and promoting Christian fiction! By doing so, you help make faith-filled stories more accessible to readers everywhere.

What Christian book have you borrowed from your library recently? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
