Pregnant, disgraced, she ran from the past,
Hoping this time she’d find home at last.
A grumpy war hero, one arm and all,
Swore he’d never again let his weary heart fall.But babies bring chaos (and hope wrapped in cries),
While Christmas lights shine where redemption lies.
Convenience may start it, but love writes the song
Of a broken-made-beautiful place to belong.
Not exactly Shakespeare, right? Don’t worry. The actual book reads far better than my poetry.
